    Lunch on Tuesday.   BBQ sandwich had lots of meat with a sweet smokey sauce.   Fried okra was excellent but the restaurant was empty.   What a shame.

    We visit Pocahontas often and pass this place all the time, but just tried it for the first time. What a surprise! We had low expectations admittedly -- the interior is a little bleak (but clean!) But when the pulled pork came, it was as flavorful and tender as lots of places in Memphis! We also got ribs, which were smoky and delicious. The slaw was delicious, the okra wasn't at all greasy, and my boy loved his catfish. We were curious about the pork steak (all four people at the table next to us ordered it) but theirs didn't come before we left. The portions were huge.  (Note to Hickory BBQ: the loaded cheese fries were a little underwhelming.. add two bucks to the price and use real bacon and add some sour cream.) The go-to place for everyone in town seems to be Dons Steak House, but this is our new favorite.
